You choose to give. We choose who.
Random Act of Giving is a randomizer between someone who wants to give and an official Trump Account contribution page. That's the whole product.
Three steps
We pick randomly.
Press Make a Random Act and we deal the next account from a fairly shuffled deck. You see an anonymous number, like #K7M2P.
You decide to give.
On a computer, scan the QR code with your phone. On your phone, tap Continue. Either way you land on the official contribution page.
That's it.
The official system handles the contribution. We never see it. You did something for someone you may never meet.
Why is this random?
Because the moment you choose, it becomes a contest: the cutest photo, the saddest story, the family with the biggest following. We don't want any of that. Random means every participating kid gets the same chance, and nobody has to perform for it.
The shuffle deck
Every participating account is shuffled into a deck. Each Random Act deals the next card. When the deck runs out, it's reshuffled into a new round. So every account appears once per round before any account appears twice.
- The shuffle uses a cryptographically secure random number generator.
- An account that joins mid-round is slotted into a random position among the cards not yet dealt.
- Submitting the same link many times changes nothing: one link gets one place.
- There's no featured, trending or paid placement, and there never will be.
- The map is decoration. It can't be used to choose a state or an account.
We test this with a simulation that runs millions of draws and checks that every account is shown the same number of times per round.
What "continued" means
When you scan the QR code or tap Continue, you pass through a short link on our site (like /go/8XK4P2QM). We record one anonymous event, "a Random Act continued to an official page", then send you straight on. We don't record who you are or what you did next. We never call that a contribution, because we can't see contributions.
Where am I going? Random Act of Giving redirects only to official contribute.trumpaccount.com contribution pages. Every link is checked against that exact address before it enters the pool, and rechecked regularly. We will never ask for your bank, card, Social Security number, password or verification code.
