FAQ

Questions, answered.

What is Random Act of Giving?

A way to put something toward the future of a kid you've never met. You press one button, we randomly pick a Trump Account that a family has shared with the pool, and you can continue to that account's official contribution page. You decide whether, and how much, to give.

What is a Trump Account?

A savings account for children created by federal law and run through an official Treasury program. Families can share a contribution link so friends, family and other people can contribute. For the details, rules and limits, see the official Trump Accounts information from the U.S. Treasury and the IRS. We link people there rather than trying to restate the rules.

Who can contribute to a Trump Account?

Pretty much anyone. Parents, grandparents, friends, neighbors and complete strangers can all contribute to a child's Trump Account through its official contribution link. That's what makes a Random Act possible. Contributions from everyone combined count toward the account's yearly limit.

Does Random Act of Giving receive my money?

No. Never. We send you to the official Trump Account contribution page and the official system handles everything from there. We never see your payment details, the amount, or whether you contributed.

How is the account selected?

From a fair, shuffled pool. Every participating account is dealt once per round, in a random order, before the deck is reshuffled. More on how the shuffle works.

Can families pay for better placement?

No. Nobody can buy placement, and there are no featured, trending or "most deserving" accounts. Submitting the same link many times doesn't help either: one link gets one place in the pool.

Do you know who I'm contributing to?

No, and that's deliberate. We don't collect names, photos, ages, stories or anything else about the child. You see an anonymous number like #K7M2P and, if the family chose to share it, a state. Once you're on the official site, what it shows is up to that system.

Do you know who I am?

No. There's no signup, no donor profile and no cookies. Our website analytics (Plausible) are cookie-free and only show totals, like how many people visited a page. We count anonymous events like "a Random Act was shown" and "someone continued to an official page". The official contribution system does collect contributor information when you give, under its own privacy policy. Our privacy page has the details.

Is my contribution tax deductible?

We can't give tax advice. Random Act of Giving isn't a charity, and personal contributions to a Trump Account aren't presented here as charitable donations. Official guidance says personal contributions from individuals are not tax-deductible. Check the IRS guidance or a tax professional for your situation.

How much can I give, and what if the account is full?

Give whatever feels right. The official Trump Account system enforces the yearly limit, so we don't have to: current guidance says ordinary 2026 contributions are generally capped at $5,000 per child, from everyone combined. If the official page says an account is full, tap It said this account is full and we'll give you another Random Act straight away. Once a couple of people report the same thing, that account rests until January 1, when the limit resets.

How do I add an account?

Copy the official contribution link from the Trump Accounts app's share option, paste it on Add an account, and confirm you're authorized to share it publicly. That's all we ask for.

Can I remove my family's account?

Yes. Use the account owner / privacy request page and a person will handle it. We'll never ask for a Social Security number, birth certificate or anything like that.

Are you affiliated with Trump Accounts or the Treasury?

No. Random Act of Giving is an independent service. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the IRS, or the Trump Accounts program.
